Service Description

Location: The Rice Museum Georgetown, SC When: ricemuseum.org for dates & to make reservations Cost: $60.00 per person (12 and older only) Student Materials: One pair of (Standard Yellow rubber) House Cleaning Gloves - $1.25 at Dollar General Skill Level: Beginner & Intermediate ** Limit 10 students Participants will learn the basics of indigo dyeing by creating a bandana and a tea towel to take home. Various wrapping & dyeing techniques will be demonstrated. Instructor Linda Abate will provide items to be dyed and all other materials necessary to create different designs. Students are encouraged to bring one personal item to dye based on class size. Personal items should not be larger than 36” x 36”. The instructor provides three items for the class. The workshop is non-refundable and limited to 10 students Please note this workshop takes place partially outdoors Please wear old clothes and closed-toe shoes Bring your drinks & snacks if desired Bring long latex or rubber gloves if you have them Weather: If inclement weather forces a cancellation, participants will be notified, and the workshop will be rescheduled.
