About the Artist
I had always wanted to be able to express myself through art. Although I had never had any formal training, about 10 years ago, as I got ready to leave the work world, I decided it was time to follow my dream. I bought a book, “Watercolor for Dummies”, which I might suggest should be called, “Watercolor for the Talented and Creative Dummies.” I, just a mere Dummy, struggled. Luckily I found a wonderful artist friend that agreed to spend some time bringing me out of the darkness and into the light of watercolor. After about a month, I felt that I at least understood the fundamentals of art theory. Since then I have worked to apply those theories and have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with great artists who have helped me become more proficient.
One of my favorite things to paint is Ice Cream and I am working on a series of paintings around that theme.
